The Lenovo T580 is IMHO a pretty solid laptop for Linux developers. I've owned one since 2018.
Firmware
Beyond that firmware available in Debian Unstable non-free packages, I've needed to install:
- iwlwifi-8265-36.ucode for the Intel 82x5 wireless controller
- kbl_dmc_ver1_04.bin for the Intel UHD 620 graphics
