The Monoprice Voxel is an affordable 3D printer using 1.75mm filament. It is said to be a rebranded FlashForge Adventurer 3, which seems plausible from external appearance. I believe it to have "Sailfish" flavored GCode.
The build area is 150mm x 150mm x 150mm. The nozzle diameter is 0.4mm.
It claims to support 3MF, STL, OBJ, FPP, BMP, PNG, and JPG via its slicing software; GX and G are directly supported.
Calibration
- Enter calibration mode using the on-screen display.
- The nozzle will be lowered by the device.
- Fine-tune the nozzle until a piece of paper can just slide underneath it.
- Use the up and down buttons on the touchscreen
Software
Monoprice makes the MatterControl software available as a deb. Installing it on my Debian Unstable machine in October 2019 saw it crash a lot. Most of these were due to missing dependencies; make sure you've installed:
- gnome-themes-standard
- mono-vbnc
Accessing the printer
For hostname voxel.localnet, use http://voxel.localnet/?action=stream to access the camera.
