IEEE Networking Standards

802 is a family of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) working groups and standards for local area networks (LAN), personal area networks (PAN), and metropolitan area networks (MAN).
- 802.1 develops networking best practices.
- 802.3 does MAC+PHY for wired Ethernet.
- 802.11 handles WiFi.
